Hermès introduces new Cape Cod designs for men

Hermès’ Cape Cod watch is a classic, but even classics need an upgrade every now and then! The maison is giving their beloved square dial watch a makeover with four new styles: Manufacture, Bicolore, Cadran laque and Bracelet de force all created especially for men. The watches come in new colors but they still feature your favorite details including saddle stiching. Check out the new styles below:


TGM Manufacture:
Available in a number of colors with alligator, or calf leather strap option, this watch features the in-house Manufacture H1912 movement. It has a power reserve of 50 hours and provides the hours, minutes and seconds functions with the date at 6 o’clock. The silvered dials match the straps in colors like Blue, Anthracite and Black or Opaline for the tan strap.


TGM Bicolore:
This watch has a Quartz movement and plain white dial, but the decorative element is the two-color smooth calfskin strap. Choose from two colorways Etoupe/Malta blue or Malta blue/Hermès red.


TGM Cadran Laque
Featuring a lacquered dial, raised rhodium-plated Arabic numerals, silvered transferred square minute track, and rhodium-plated hands the Cadran Laque is low-key without being invisible. It comes with a 17mm Barenia calfskin leather strap and is available in Hermès red or ebony.


TGM Bracelet de Force
Choose from impressive cuff-style straps in Veronese green alligator, Black alligator, Natural Barenia calfskin or Black Barenia calfskin. Like the Bicolore and features the opaline silvered dial seen also on the Bicolore.

The watches will make their official debut at Baselworld 2017.

Tiffany & Co. 2017 Out Of Retirement Collection

‘If you want to move forward often look back, otherwise you’ll forget where you came from and where you need to go’ says a motivational quote that’s commonly found online, and it’s also very apt when one thinks of Tiffany & Co.’s Out Of Retirement collection for 2017, a selection of jewellery and gifts that hark back almost 70 years. Named so because Tiffany never discontinues anything, but rather retires instead, the 2017 collection includes pieces from the 1940s all the way to 2003, with a variety of bracelets, cuffs, earrings and rings that looked good then and certainly won’t look out of place today as well on the modern woman.

Besides the jewellery, you’ll also find interesting pieces in sterling silver, one of which (and my personal favourite) is a drinking flask in the shape of a fish, that wittingly pays homage to the adage ‘drink like a fish’. Prices start from SGD505 for block rings in sterling silver all the way to SGD9000 for a pair of 18K gold earrings studded with diamonds, all of which are available now in Singapore for you to check out.

Think Tiffany & Co. and their shade of signature robin egg blue comes to mind, on a box that’s then lovingly swathed with a lush white ribbon. And come Christmas Day, I can confidently say most (if not all) women wouldn’t mind finding one or more of these boxes under the tree.

Tiffany & Co.: Legendary Style Campaign, Grace Coddington

You’ve seen the Legendary Style campaign, styled by none other than Grace Coddington, who’s a legend in her own right. And with Tiffany & Co., she, with 50 years of fashion experience behind her, took on the role of being the American jewellery house’s first independent creative. And her first order of business? Creating a new campaign for Tiffany’s.

And the inspiration behind the campaign? In her own words, ‘Blue is very extraordinary colour, it’s a very positive colour. I always say why do I love New York? It’s because the sky always blue.’ The colour of New York’s sky, the colour of Tiffany & Co., and also the main colour you see in the ad campaign, which stars the likes of Elle Fanning, Lupita Nyong’o and Christy Turlington Burns.

But today’s post isn’t about the campaign, how luminous the personalities look, or even how how beautiful the jewellery is (we’ve already seen all that, no?). Today’s post is this must-watch short BTS film that stars Ms Coddington at her most charming as she plans the shoot from start to finish, complete with her humble, self-deprecating wit that had me transfixed for the good 10 minutes that it ran.

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY IS THE NEW FACE OF CHANEL JEWELRY

From Kristen to Cara and Kendall to Lily-Rose, Karl Lagerfeld has certainly adopted an "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude when it comes to his Chanel muses. His wide-ranging roster of go-to models, actresses and general girls-about-town have fronted campaigns for many different categories over the years, and no woman knows that better than one Keira Knightley.

On Monday, Chanel announced that the 31-year-old "It" Brit is the new face of the house's jewelry line, a role previously filled by models such as Sigrid Agren and Jac Jagaciak. Lest you've forgotten, Knightley is as experienced a perennial muse as they come, previously fronting the house's Coco Mademoiselle perfume and Rouge Coco lipstick, the former of which she began as early as 2007. Fellow Chanel-favorite Mario Testino photographed this round of ads, which are slated to debut in full for fall 2016. 

While we certainly don't blame Lagerfeld for keeping Knightley in the Chanel family, this timing also makes a certain amount of professional sense. With her upcoming dramatic film "Collateral Beauty" due out later this year, she'll be going on a massive press tour alongside the likes of Kate Winslet, Helen Mirren and Naomie Harris — meaning, there's many more pristine Chanel red carpet moments in Knightley's future. We can't wait.

Fred 8°0 Bracelet Collection

To celebrate French jeweller Fred’s 80th anniversary, they have launched the 8°0 Bracelet collection, which for obvious reasons, have knots that resemble the number 8. In other words, besides really looking good on your wrist, they are also lucky charms in their own right and available in a variety of precious metals, from pink and white to yellow gold.

And depending on how much bling you need, you can go for the plain ones, the ones that come partly-paved or even the full paved ones for the all out party on a wrist. Now available in Singapore at Fred’s boutique that’s located within Marina Bay Sands, you can, if you like, opt for the straps to be in leather as opposed to their traditional bracelets that come woven in steel. Mix it up I say, and find the combination that best suits your wrist party.
