Bottega Veneta Messenger in Dusty Rose

Categories:Other Brands

Long before Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo bestowed their daughter with the name Dusty Rose, the shade was an omnipresent favorite among fashion people, and it’s still is a color of the moment. I fell as hard into the dusty rose trap as the next girl–you see, I love pink, but bubblegum pink is too overt, in my opinion, and not really my vibe. Enter dusty rose, the color: it’s a combination of pink and taupe, and a color I can’t get enough of.

Bottega Veneta has always used some of the most divine colors in the handbag rainbow, and when I found this Bottega Veneta Messenger in Dusty Rose, I fell so hard. It’s perfect. The color, the simple style, the leather. Everything about this bag is perfection. The size is just right to fit all of my personal essentials so I can carry this for myself while also carrying a diaper bag for Millie. For the first time in a while, I added this bag to my cart and am ready to check out.

Designed with handwoven Intrecciato nappa leather, the adjustable strap is slender, which makes it light to carry and features signature knot details. The double zipper closure shows a suede-lined interior with an inside zip pocket. Dimensions are 9.4″ x 6.6″ x 1.6″ and there are 11 colors to choose from on BottegaVeneta.com. If you ask me, this is the perfect bag, at a great price, with a color option for everyone.

Bottega Veneta Fall 2016 RTW Line’s Revolutionary Elegance

Categories:Other Brands

Functional, romantic and with clear haute couture influences, Tomas Maier’s latest Bottega Veneta fall/winter 2016-17 ready-to-wear collection gave Milan Fashion Week a more mature twist. Alternating relaxed lines with hourglass silhouettes, Maier’s top-notch artisanal skills got probably combined with his childhood memories, in which his parents’ architectural abilities surely had something to do with the development of his artistic background.

Bottega Veneta Fall/ Winter 2016-2017 RTW - Milan Fashion Week

The collection’s main prints are geometric and repetitive, as they start from plain simple tartan motifs and evolve into big, intricate and sequential squared patterns. Such patterns enhance the lineup’s overall elegance even more, confirming once again that Tomas Maier’s purpose is focusing on creating one-of-a-kind staples that may satisfactorily represent the label’s legacy, rather than design plain pieces with the aim of just quickly going sold-out. Given the fact that the fashion industry is under turmoil at the moment due to its decreasing sales and frenetic schedules, and more and more designers and insiders are wondering what fashion will be all about in the next few years, Maier’s steadfastness to prove that quality is indeed better than quantity is a hopeful sign towards the new generations of both customers and designers.

Accentuating the legs and the waists, the Bottega Veneta fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection’s lines are dizzily vertical, like those of the epoch of English Gothic architectural style. The gothic cathedrals’ so-called Perpendicular Gothic style (circa 1350-1520), which led many architects to focus on vertical panels and vertically enlarged windows adorned with stone mullions, is to be found in most of Maier’s designs too, as proven by their many golden colored accents as well.

Gothic is also the collection’s color palette, with dark hues getting interrupted only by off touches of yellow, vivid red and green. While the very first part of the collection almost solely focuses on blacks and grays, the middle part explores more romantic looks, in case of which ombre patterns and blurred vertical stripes will make anyone long for at least one of these looks.

Covetable are most of the collection’s latest pieces, which combine the Gothic theme both with the Eighties (of course, in a more punk-rock style) and the Nineties, creating some delicate A-line dresses, velvet suits and light pleated skirts. Those who can’t wait to try the ‘inside-out’ trend will be very enthusiastic to embrace it during the upcoming cold season thanks to this particular collection. As for the collection’s trending pieces, the jackets, overalls and double-breasted long coats in wool definitely can be next season’s greatest investments, and no less interesting is the accessory line.

Maier couldn’t exempt himself from holding the label’s name high by celebrating its world-famous handbags, clutches, shoulder bags and shoes, and put all his efforts into designing pieces that will meet everyone’s expectations. To balance the vertical lines of the outfits, he focused on mini bags and pointy-toe shoes and to top it all off utilized thin belts to accentuate the waists.

BOTTEGA VENETA RESORT 2016 COLLECTION

Categories:Other Brands

We have officially begun looking at all the different resort looks out there. Considering the fact that the summer months are literally just ahead of us, the weather already nice and warm and perfect in so many regions of the world, it makes sense to start thinking about our vacations, albeit the Bottega Veneta resort 2015 collection outlines looks for the coming 2016 getaway periods. Really though, we wish we could get into some of these looks early, especially if they fit in with the spring/ summer 2015 fashion trends that have been rocking our boats for the longest time. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until October and November for their release.

Bottega Veneta Resort 2016 Collection

With Chanel and Louis Vuitton already accounted for, we now move on to the Bottega Veneta resort 2016 collection, wherein it appears that common sense was the guiding factor for Tomas Maier as he stayed pragmatic in the designs for the upcoming year’s cruise and resort period. After all, what better time is there to sail to the Caribbean than during the colder winter months of the earliest time period in 2016? The designer for this particular collection acknowledged the existence of a mood board, as well as the inherent desire for color, choosing shades of pink, red, orange and blues. For Maier, it was more the question of the colors a woman would require in that particular time of the year. For the time period it is set to be released, the colors should lift moods, for the winter blues are sure to be affecting us all. That also means lighter fabrics to get away from the heavier garments we are forced to don in most of our respective countries.

This collection featured abstract patchwork pleated skirts as well as chic V-neck and turtlenecks in truly light, if not ultra-light and often sheer viscose. Japanese fleece sweatshirts also make the cut, along with track jackets and pencil skirts that are tailored perfectly to smooth over the body and end just above the knees. There are flouncy A-line skirts as well, alongside the pink shearling jacket and looser pants. Nearly every outfit in this particular Bottega Veneta cruise 2016 line was shown off with a pair of flats, though some did also include slight heeled sandals. Slip on sneakers and rustic embroideries on the footwear are totally our style and we cannot wait to get our hands on them. The resort collections are about pieces we would wear any day if not every day, meaning that they should be made for comfort more than just style. Of course, everything Maier produces is trendy and stylish, perfect for any woman on her day out.

Some of our favourite looks from the collection include the use of red trousers with matching handbags, the blouse in orange and the jacket in pink, while the red thin sweaters themselves look amazing tucked into high waist loose pants in tan colors, with handbags that have matching handles. Accessories matching garments are big these days and that is one trend we can grow to love easily. We might even really start liking those sleeveless versions of the shearling jackets that serve to elongate the body beautifully. Cropped Capri pants though, we certainly love; that and the blue or red coloring used within this beautiful resort and cruise collection.
